A pulley can look correct by OD and bore, but still fail if the groove profile does not match the belt section. Use this guide to confirm classical and wedge groove geometry before ordering.
Profile matching steps
- 1Read the installed belt marking or measure the belt section if markings are missing.
- 2Confirm whether the system uses classical A/B/C/D or wedge SPZ/SPA/SPB/SPC sections.
- 3Check groove count and pulley width against the number of belts in service.
- 4Verify whether the replacement pulley uses the same standard and datum geometry.
- 5Confirm bore type, taper series, and RPM before finalizing the RFQ.
